Information from Mock Interviews

Mock interviews may be conducted via Zoom and, with your consent, recorded to provide feedback or improve the Service. Recordings may include audio, video, or chat data, which could be considered sensitive under GDPR (e.g., voice as biometric data). We instruct interviewers and interviewees to treat all sessions confidentially and not share recordings externally. However, we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of information you disclose during interviews. Please avoid sharing sensitive or proprietary information unless necessary.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes: -

  • Service Delivery: To provide and manage accounts, schedule interviews, and deliver feedback.
  • Improvements: To analyze usage (via Amplitude, Google Analytics) and enhance the Service’s functionality, design, and user experience.

  • Security: To protect our systems, users, and data from unauthorized access or fraud.

2. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. However, Meta Pixel’s data sharing for advertising may be considered a "sale" under CCPA. You can opt out (see Section 8).

We may share anonymized or aggregated data (e.g., demographic trends) with academic institutions or partners for research, under strict contractual terms prohibiting further disclosure.

We may also share your information: - With vetted employers or recruiters for hiring opportunities, only with your explicit consent. - In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, ensuring the acquirer upholds similar privacy commitments. - To comply with legal obligations, such as responding to court orders or regulatory requests under India’s Information Technology Act, 2000, DPDPA, GDPR, or CCPA.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this Policy: -

  • Account Data: Retained until you request deletion or your account is inactive for 2 years.
  • Analytics Data: Retained by Amplitude and Google Analytics for up to 14 months.
  • Zoom Recordings: Deleted after 30 days unless you request otherwise or consent to longer retention for feedback purposes.
  • Other Data: Retained as required by law (e.g., tax or compliance records) or until no longer needed for Service delivery.

To request deletion, email support@interviewbetter.io. We will process requests within 30 days (GDPR/DPDPA) or 45 days (CCPA). Note that third parties (e.g., Zoom, Meta) may retain data per their own policies.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the following rights under DPDPA, GDPR, or CCPA: -

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your data.
  • Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. We use age verification prompts to prevent access by users under 18. If we discover that we have collected data from an individual under 18, we will promptly delete it. Parents or guardians can contact support@interviewbetter.io to request deletion of any such data.

Our Service may link to external websites or services (e.g., employer portals) not controlled by us. This Policy does not apply to these Third-Party Sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their privacy policies before use.
